I am engaged in research and development of unmanned aerial vehicles. My team is working on small and medium sized fixed wing airframes, multicopters, and combined versions of both these types. We develop autonomous functions required for optimal mission execution. We also have our underwater robotics group working on localization, control, and mapping technology required by these vehicles. Our primary objective is to apply these technologies for actual applications by way  of product development and commercialization through University startups. We also respond to pressing issues such as human-elephant conflict, energy-saving, and disaster management. My main areas of teaching are robotics, control systems, and autonomous systems. I do night sky observations using telescopes, I am a nature-lover and also a nature-photographer. Listening to music, swimming, jogging, hiking, traveling, RC flying, and friends' company are my other hobbies.
