“ENTC Careers Fair” organized by the Electronic Club with the prime objective of bridging the gap between the fresh graduates and the industry, is the official careers fair of the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa. For the second consecutive time in the ENTC department, careers fair inaugurated on 30th September 2019 with an Information Session. The focus of attention of the event was on the real interviews carried out by potential employers of the industry for the passing out batch of the department. That was a great opportunity for final year undergraduates to enter their dream jobs while industry picked the best employees into their journey ahead.
The careers fair was conducted under three main sessions, Information Session, Grooming and Etiquette Workshop and Recruitment Day. Whole three sessions succeeded with the unwavering guidance of the head of the department Dr. Nuwan Dayananda, senior treasurer and staff advisor of Electronic Club Dr. Ranga Rodrigo and senior lecturer and staff advisor of ENTC careers fair 2019 Dr. Peshala Jayasekara. This year’s event was chaired by the committee member of Electronic Club Mr. Nipuna Pieris under the close supervision of President of the Electronic Club Mr. Matheesha Abeysekera.
ENTC Careers Fair 2019 commenced with the ‘Information Session’ on 30th September 2019 at the department premises with the participation of final year students of the department. The session was conducted associating with nine leading companies in the Electronic and Telecommunication industry with the objective of raising awareness of students about their companies, what are the position available at them and the projects undertaken by their companies. The session was a clear introduction about the companies which lead students to decide which company they will be applied as they can get into their dream careers.
The next session ‘Grooming and Etiquette Workshop’ was a new step in ENTC Careers Fair, which had been included in this year, conducted on the 1st of October 2019 at the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering. The session was successful with the guidance of the veteran artist Angela Seneairatne to train the students for the interview. The Dresscode, Greetings, Professional conduct, the way to facing for an interview and many other aspects were discussed during this session.
The ‘Recruitment Day’ was the most important and the last session of the event which was conducted on 17th of October 2019 at the department premises for the second consecutive year. Twenty-three of successful and leading companies in the industry, namely 4Axis, Axiata Digital Labs, Brandix, CodeGen, Creative Software, Dialog, DirectFN, London Stock Exchange Group, MillenniumIT ESP, nCinga, Paraqum, Pickme Engineering, Synopsys, Ustocktrade, vcLABs, Virtusa, Wavenet International, WSO2, X.O Concepts, ZONE24x7, Cloud Solutions, Neo Minds and ACCELR joined hands with ENTC Careers Fair this time, offering interviews for over One-hundred and ten final year students of the department with a great significance to ensure successful transition from university to the industry.
ENTC Careers Fair 2019 concluded after successful three sessions benefiting both fresh undergraduates, having the best fit for their future career in the industry and the companies, having the cream of the nation as their new employees. Finally, it ended suggesting new and powerful brains into the industry and to the nation, continuing the legacy and fame of the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa.
